Philippians 3 NIV - No Confidence in the Flesh - Bible Gateway

Following Paul's Example:  "12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal,but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has calledme heavenward in Christ Jesus.
15 All of us, then, who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you. 16 Only let us live up to what we have already attained."

The Name of the LORD Is A Strong Tower

Notes from the opening of our summer Bible Study class - study materials by Kay Arthur:  "Lord, I Want To Know You" ( an excellent study !)

“The name of the Lord is a strong tower;the righteous run to it and are safe.”  Prov. 18:10

What would it mean to us - if we were to *truly* know (Yada) our God ?

It would mean the difference between:
Life and Death
Life and Abundant Life
Rest and Turmoil
Victory and Defeat
Finding a refuge - and living as a fugitive

The solution to every situation is NOT a change in:
Circumstance, environment, the past or future.
The solution to every situation is the correct Knowledge of God.

**Daniel 11:32b
“-but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and will do great exploits.”
 (If you want to be on to the enemy’s secret schemes, you only need to KNOW YOUR GOD! See Isaiah 42:6 – hold onto God. (Daniel – Beth Moore)

**Jeremiah 9:23-24

This is what the Lord says:
“Don’t let the wise boast in their wisdom,
    or the powerful boast in their power,
    or the rich boast in their riches.
But those who wish to boast
    should boast in this alone:
that they truly know me and understand that I am the Lord
    who demonstrates unfailing love
    and who brings justice and righteousness to the earth,
and that I delight in these things.
    I, the Lord, have spoken!

**Psalm 138:1-2
I give you thanks, O Lord, with all my heart;
    I will sing your praises before the gods.
I bow before your holy Temple as I worship.
    I praise your name for your unfailing love and faithfulness;
for your promises are backed
    by all the honor of your name.

**Genesis 4:26
“At that time people first began to worship the Lord by name.”

**Genesis 16:13

(You are a God of seeing. This divine name is not attested elsewhere. It expresses the deep significance to Hagar of God’s gracious revelation to her. Even while she was lost in the wilderness, God had seen her and revealed Himself to her.)
**Genesis 21:33
"Abraham planted a tamarisk tree at Beersheba and worshiped Yahweh, El Olam, there."  (Everlasting God.)
**Genesis 26:25
 “So Isaac built an altar there and worshiped Yahweh. He also pitched his tent in that place, and his servants dug a well there.”
**Psalm 124:8 (A psalm of Ascent)
(Today this psalm appeals to the Lord as the One who is able to protect His church from the attacks of principalities and in the spiritual realm (Eph. 6:10–20).)
If the Lord had not been on our side—
    let Israel say—
if the Lord had not been on our side
    when people attacked us,
they would have swallowed us alive
    when their anger flared against us;
the flood would have engulfed us,
    the torrent would have swept over us,
the raging waters
    would have swept us away.
Praise be to the Lord,
    who has not let us be torn by their teeth.
We have escaped like a bird
    from the fowler’s snare;
the snare has been broken,
    and we have escaped.
Our help is in the name of the Lord,
    the Maker of heaven and earth.

** Psalm 9:9-10
“The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed,
    a stronghold in times of trouble.
Those who know your name trust in you,
    for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.”
